Punjab is a region in the northwest of India that has a remarkable cultural past and five rivers. It is the second-largest producer of the major agricultural products in India and is referred to as the “Granary of India.” The sports and hosiery products industries are well-known in Punjab. In terms of infrastructure and per capita income, it is one among India’s most wealthy states. Many historic buildings, Gurudwaras, temples, ashrams, tranquil lakes, spiritual shrines, museums, and wildlife reserves that are home to various endangered species of animals and migratory birds can be found across Punjab’s attractive cities and towns.
Every year, the Department of Tourism Punjab hosts folk performances and cultural events that draw a sizable number of both local and foreign tourists in an effort to disseminate the rich art and culture of Punjab. Punjab tourism works hard to promote the state’s traditional and regional handicrafts, handlooms, and food.
