All visitors must check in at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai by the planned flight departure time in order to go to Milan, which is the third most visited city in Italy after Rome and Venice. Milan is the country’s financial and fashion centre. Today, we go into Germany’s Black Forest, a hilly area renowned for its verdant evergreen woods and charming towns. At Titisee, we go to the cuckoo clock factory. Later, we stop by Rhine Falls in Schaffhausen (Neuhausen), the most potent waterfall in all of Europe. Here, we take a boat excursion to admire the breathtaking falls. We continue on to Bern, which is situated on a sandstone hill and surrounded on three sides by the River Aare, which flows through a valley. Upon arrival, we tour Bern, taking in sights like Bear Pits, a national historic landmark of Switzerland that is especially significant to Bern because the bear is the city’s emblem. Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the mediaeval city centre of Bern, is home to the 800-year-old Bern Clock Tower (Zytglogge), the astronomical clock tower, Einsteinhaus, a museum and the former home of physicist Albert Einstein, and the Aare River, the longest river entirely within Switzerland.
Today, we travel to Geneva, which is referred to be the “capital of peace” since it is home to the Red Cross headquarters and the United Nations’ (UN) European headquarters. When we first arrive in Geneva, we tour the city. We see the Jet D’eau fountain, a 140-meter-tall water feature that serves as the official logo for the city’s hosting of the 2008 UEFA Championships, Geneva Lake, Switzerland’s largest lake, the Flower Clock, a sizable working clock made of flowers that changes with the seasons, the UN Building, which houses the UN’s European headquarters and the UN’s other headquarters in New York, and the renowned Broken Chair, Then we continue on to Vevey, a Swiss city on Lake Geneva that is regarded as one of the Pearls of the Swiss Riviera. As soon as we get there, we visit Charlie Chaplin’s world in Vevey, which is both a museum and his old home. Charlie Chaplin was a British comedian, actor, director, and composer. We continue on to Broc, which is famous for its Swiss chocolate factory. Our first stop is Maison Cailler, one of the oldest chocolate manufacturers in the world, where we learn about the production of chocolate. Today, we take a full-day excursion to the top of Europe, Jungfraujoch. First, we go to Grindelwald, where we board the Eiger Express, the world’s most advanced triangular gondola. In about 15 minutes, we arrive at the Eiger Glacier station. We continue and board a cogwheel train, taking in the stunning views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau peaks along the way. We then get off the train at Europe’s highest railway station, which is located at an elevation of 3,454 metres (11,332 ft). When we first arrive, the sight of snow-covered mountains, ice sculptures, an ice palace, and the Sphinx Terrace is breathtaking. Today, we go to Thun, which is considered the entrance to the Bernese Oberland and is located close to Lake Thun. Upon arrival, we take a riverboat trip on Lake Thun and experience the breathtaking vistas of the Alps as we ply its crystal-clear waters. Following a stroll through the charming cobblestone streets in Thun’s historical centre, where we can admire the remarkable City Hall, the neighbouring Guild Houses from the 16th century, and the city’s most energetic square, “Mühleplatz,” we then visit Thun Castle, a mediaeval castle dating from the 12th century that now serves as a historical museum highlighting the history of the area. We travel to Engelberg in the evening, which is a popular winter and summer vacation spot.
Today, we take a half-day excursion to Mt. Titlis, the highest mountain in Central Switzerland. We go to the peak Station on the “Titlis Rotair,” the first cable car in the world with rotating gondolas, while taking in expansive vistas of the Swiss Alps. When we reach the peak, we visit the Ice Grotto and take a thrilling trip on the Ice Flyer before going snow sliding. Later, we go to the Engelberg Cheese Factory to witness how cheese is made. We travel to Lucerne, a stunning city in the centre of Switzerland, in the afternoon. When we first arrive in Lucerne, we tour the city. We visit the Lion Monument, which honours the Swiss Guards who were killed during the French Revolution in 1792, and the Kappelbrucke Wooden Bridge, the oldest covered wooden bridge in the world that crosses the River Reuss. We enjoy a Lake Lucerne Cruise in the evening. Then we travel to Zurich.
